While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to take a call on the resignation submitted by local bodies minister Anil Joshi following the defeat of BJP’s candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley, the minister has swung into action in an apparent bid to elevate his image.


Of late, Joshi has been conducting raids at various offices of the town planning wing of the Amritsar municipal corporation.Of late, Joshi got into the ministerial mode and started his day by conducting raids at various offices of the municipal town planning (MTP) wing.

At least 15 out of the 45 officials of the department were found playing truant during the raid on Wednesday. Following which Joshi issued orders for initiating strict action like suspension against the absentee officials. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against a builder, identified as Satish Kumar, for alle gedly forging a leave application of a building inspector. Joshi also directed the officials of the MTP department to ensure their presence in the office daily.
