Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Thursday apprised the union government of the need for more technical and financial assistance for a digital survey of land.

Taking part in the conference of revenue ministers' on modernisation of land records in New Delhi, presided over by union minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh, Majithia stated that for the land survey, the Centre was giving Rs 15,000 per square km, which was not enough.

He said this amount should be increased up to Rs 50,000 per square km. He said the completion of the survey would result in a major reduction in property disputes.
