Maloya man booked for stabbing labourer

UT police booked a Maloya resident for stabbing a person here on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Mukesh Kumar.

According to police, Mukesh stabbed one Rameshwar Parsad, also a resident of Maloya Colony, in the stomach. Both work as labourers and reportedly have an old enmity.

Mukesh and Rameshwar entered into a heated confrontation and a physical alteration ensued, after which the former stabbed Rameshwar in the stomach with a knife, said police, adding that, Rameshwar in turn hit Mukesh on head with a blunt object.

Police was informed and Rameshwar was rushed to Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) where his condition is said to be stable, while Mukesh was admitted to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16.

A case of assault using dangerous weapons under section 324 and wrongful restrain under section 341 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. No arrest has been made so far.
