An unidentified man was found murdered at the old labour chowk rotary in Sector 20 here on Wednesday.
The deceased aged around 45 was spotted by a passerby around 7am in a pool of blood with his head smashed with a stone. The police recovered two pairs of slippers and bloodstained stone. Also, the victim did not have four fingers of his right hand and it was not the result of this incident.
A team led by the Sector 19 station house officer, inspector Poonam Dilwari, reached the spot and recovered the body of the victim who had a dark complexion and medium height and built. The victim was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16 where he was declared brought dead.
The identity of the deceased has not been established as of now said Poonam, adding that the further investigation into the case was underway.
The body has been kept in the hospital mortuary and post-mortem examination will be done after ascertaining the identity of the victim.
