Man held for stabbing Mauli Jagran resident

A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a Mauli Jagran resident in Chandigarh on Sunday.

The victim, Gulshad, was stabbed in the stomach by Ashish of Mauli Complex and others near the Charan Singh Colony, Mauli Jagran.

The victim and the accused were known to each other and had some dispute. The accused entered into a heated confrontation with the victim and physical alteration ensued. The accused stabbed the victim and fled from the spot. The police was informed and the victim was rushed to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he is currently under treatment. The police managed to arrest Ashish, while others involved in the crime are still at large.

A case of voluntarily causing hurt, attempt to murder and act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention has been registered under Sections 323, 307, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Manimajra police station.

Meanwhile, Dilpreet Singh of SAS Nagar alleged that Sonu, James and Jassi thrashed him at Sector 39. The victim sustained injures and a case of voluntarily causing hurt, assault using dangerous weapons, criminal intimidation and act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention under Sections 323, 324, 506, 34 of the IPC has been registered at Sector 39 police station.

In a separate incident Jaffar Khan of SAS Nagar alleged that Javed, Ashu, Royaz, Reshab thrashed him at Lake Dhanas. A case has been registered at Sector 11 police station.
