Judicial magistrate Anil Kaushi has awarded three-year jail to a Sector-56 resident for sodomising the minor brother of his friend, six years after the incident.

The medical evidence supported the testimony of the victim and his mother, helping prove the guilt of convict Sonu alias Bona, resident of Sector 56, Chandigarh. He has also been directed to pay `5,000 as fine.

In her complaint on April 7, 2008, a Sector-56 resident had alleged that Sonu, a friend of her elder son, had sodomised her younger son, a Class-9 student. She had alleged that Sonu came looking for his friend, and on not finding him home decided to wait. Meanwhile, he took his younger brother to another room and sodomised the child, who later confirmed the crime before the police.

Dismissing the plea of the accused of false implication owing to “previous enmity”, the court held, “No person especially a mother would level such grave and serious allegations against a person just to wreck vengeance. Further the medical evidence, which stated that the victim was subjected to sexual assault, also belies the stand of the accused.”
