Man killed in hit-and-run accident; mother donates his eyes
A 31-year-old man who used to work as a librarian in a private college in Panchkula died in a hit-and-run accident around 6am in Ramgarh on Saturday.
A 31-year-old man who used to work as a librarian in a private college in Panchkula died in a hit-and-run accident around 6am in Ramgarh on Saturday.
Deepak, a resident of Barwala, was going to Ramgarh on his motorcycle when an unknown vehicle hit him and he died on the spot.
His body was shifted to general hospital, Sector 6, for the post-mortem. His mother Pushpa expressed a desire to donate Deepak's eyes and the eye bank people were contacted for the donation.
"Deepak died of abdominal injuries. His family had expressed the wish of donating his eyes. All the procedures have been completed in time," said Dr Sunil Gambhir of general hospital, Sector 6.
"We have registered a case under section 279 (for rash driving) and section 304 A (for causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). We will look for CCTV footage, if any on the route, to trace out the killer," said assistant sub-inspector Gulab Singh, police post incharge Ramgarh police post.
