An ice-cream treat proved costly for a man who was robbed of his Hyundai i-20 car, Rs15,000 in cash and attacked on the head. The victim, Sudhir Bansal, 38, a resident of Phase 3B1, was left with a bleeding head in Phase 8B Industrial Area, without any cash and vehicle.
In his complaint, Bansal, said he was on the way to Phase 3B2 to get ice-cream at 10:30pm, when he was signalled by two youths standing near a parked white Maruti Swift car.
Assuming them to be commuters asking for directions, he stopped and pulled his window down, when one of the youths brandished a revolver and directed him to move to the navigator’s seat. The man then took the driver’s seat, while his accomplice sat in the back seat. The accused drove him to a secluded place in Phase 8B Industrial Area, while their other accomplice followed them in the Maruti Swift. They then attacked him on the head with the revolver’s butt, snatched his bag containing Rs15,000 and his phone, before throwing him out on the road around 10:45pm.
Bansal gained composure and borrowed a passer-by’s mobile phone to call home. His family members rushed to the spot and took him to a hospital where he received stitches on the head. The police were informed who have registered a case.
SAS Nagar SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “We are investigating into the complaint and the accused will be nabbed soon.”
