Police have booked three persons for allegedly pouring acid on a resident of Bapu Dham Colony here after he resisted their attempts to rob him.

The incident took place on Sunday. Police have booked Suraj, Neeraj alias Lamba, and Vicky Rajasthani, on a complaint by the victim, Wasim, who has alleged that the three poured acid on his hands. Wasim is being treated for the burns suffered in the attack at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 (GMCH-32).

The accused have been booked under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), 384 (extortion), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector-26 police station.

In another incident, Pappu, a resident of Colony Number 5, alleged that Durgesh Tiwari, Balli and Tota thrashed him near his residence. The police were informed and the victim was rushed to GMCH-32. Sector-34 police have registered a case against them.
