Meet on trends in telecom, IT at PU

The two-day symposium on "Emerging Trends in Telecommunication and IT"started at the Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University (PU), here on Wednesday. The symposium is being organised by the department of IT, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET).

The two-day symposium on "Emerging Trends in Telecommunication and IT"started at the Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University (PU), here on Wednesday. The symposium is being organised by the department of IT, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET).


Sastry Tumuluri, chief information security officer and IT advisor, Haryana, inaugurated the symposium. Renu Vig, director, UIET, motivated students to explore the technology and use it for the welfare of the society.

The symposium aims at discussing and sensitising the audience with latest technologies in the fields of telecommunication and information technology. During the event, around 70 faculty and research scholars will participate and interact with experts from academia and industry.

Tumuluri explained the three principle model of consumption, production and engagement. This model exploits the huge amount of information freely available on internet and the ease of access to that information.

He also gave an insight into various emerging areas like telecom industry, bandwidth utilisation management, cyber-security and cloud computing.
