For the second consecutive day, temperature remained on a higher side on Saturday even as the local meteorological centre has declared arrival of monsoon in the city a few days back. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 37.4 degree Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 30 C.

Once again, the night temperature has started rising owing to warm weather for the past few days. The minimum temperature is 5 degrees above normal while the maximum is on the par with the normal.

With the onset of monsoon on June 15, mercury had come down considerably, but from Wednesday onwards the city has been witnessing warm weather during the daytime.

“The city has been experiencing warm weather for the past few days but we are expecting monsoon showers in a day or two. Weather is likely to get partly cloudy with the possibility of thundery development. The maximum temperature on Sunday will be around 38 degree and the minimum on Monday will be around 31 degree. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places in the region and city,” said an official of the Met department.
