Migrant labourer done to death in SAS Nagar village

A helper was killed after a meat-laden trolley overturned on him at a meat plant on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Mohd Imraan, 27, a resident of Champaran district in Bihar, and at present he was living in a rented accommodation in Behra on rent.

A 35-year-old migrant labourer was found murdered in a cattle yard at Bassi Jalalpur village in the wee hours of Thursday. The victim was asleep when he was attacked and he died on the spot.

However, the suspect, 50-yearold Praduman alias Pehlwaan, a resident of Sitamari district in Bihar, fled from the scene. Old enmity was reportedly reason behind the murder.

Lalru police have started an investigation after registering a murder case.

Sources said Anil was working at domestic animals yard, which was owned by Omprakash. Pehlwaan was also working in the same village. Both of them used to drink together but they got separated after being involved in repeated scuffle incidents, recently.

Lalru SHO Gurjeet Singh said Anil was attacked when he was sleeping. He said exact address of Anil was yet to be confirmed.

However, police have registered a case against Praduman under section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code following the complaint of Omprakash


2 LABOURER KILLED IN DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS

The incident took place at around 5.30 am on Thursday. Imraan was pulling the meatladen trolley along with a colleague to the store when its front wheels entangle on uneven floor, following which the trolley got imbalanced and fell on him.

The severely injured Imraan was rushed to Government Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon.

In another incident, a 45-years- old labourer was killed after he fell from the second floor of an under construction building in Preet Colony, Zirakpur, on Wednesday evening. According to the reports, Bhup Ram, son of Narain, was working as a helper on the under construction building.

Ram was rushed to the GMCH, where he was declared brought dead.
