In another case of teenage pregnancy, a 16-yearold girl was found two months pregnant on Friday. This is the third case of teenage pregnancy in the past five months, and the case comes to fore just a few days after the case of a 16-yearold mother surfaced in the city.
The Class 11 girl, who is a resident of Raipur Khurd, complained of severe stomach pain and vomiting and her mother took her to hospital where she was found pregnant.
The girl’s mother is doing a private job and her father does not stay with them.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP), east, Anjitha Chepyala said after preliminary investigations, it was revealed by the victim’s mother that Anil de Chakrabarti was friendly with her daughter.
Anil is a student of a private college and resident of Kharar. He was friends with the victim for the past one year.
Anil is the son of an air force officer and had turned 18 in March only, he added.
The DSP said the mother had also complained of abduction on two earlier instances. Anil had, in fact, abducted the minor two times and was also arrested for the offence twice, but was released on bail.
The victim’s mother told the police that minor was abducted in March by Anil, who had raped his daughter.
A case under section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, had been registered against Anil.
In her statement to the police, the victim stated that she came in contact with Anil through a common friend.
They started meeting each other frequently and also wanted to marry.
Meanwhile, raids were being conducted to arrest Anil, but the police were unable to arrest him as he escaped from his residence when it reached the spot, the DSP said.
