Struggling to get any clue about the accused who had sexually abused an eightyear-old girl recently, the district police on Wednesday increased the prize money to Rs 1 lakh to the informer who can provide a lead to identify the culprit.
The victim, a student of Class 4, was abducted by an unidentified man in a white SUV from Phurlak village near Gharaunda on May 27 when she was retur ning from school at around 2 pm.
After she did not reach home, her father approached the police at Gharaunda. As police searched frantically for her, she was spotted near Moonak village, located on the inter-district border of Karnal and Panipat.
Deputy superintendent of police Raj Kumar told HT on Wednesday that teams were working hard to trace the accused, but the police were yet to get any vital clue in the case.
Director of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, S Kashyap, said that the girl was out of danger and her internal injuries had healed well.
