Unidentified miscreants decamped with Rs 7 lakh from the godown of a courier company after holding two guards hostage. The incident took place around 4 am in Kishangarh village on Thursday.
A case of robbery has been registered in the Manimajra police station, but it has been handed over to the crime branch.
Crime branch incharge inspector Ranjodh Singh said around four unidentified miscreants armed with swords and sharp-edged weapons struck at the godown. They gained access through the front door after breaking the locks. They held two guards hostage in the washrooms. The thieves broke open all cupboards and ransacked the godown before leaving.
The police was informed and cops reached the spot with a dog squad.A Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) team also visited the spot and took samples for examination.
The police recovered the weapons from the backside of Sukhna Lake.No arrest has been made so far.
