The Chandigarh police claimed that woman constable, Reeta, who has been missing since June 8, had not informed her parents that she was on leave till June 12.
Reeta left her home stating that she would get back to Chandigarh, but she got down at Panipat railway station instead and headed for her hometown, a village near Panipat on June 7 evening.
There a villager offered to help her catch train for Chandigarh, but Reeta refused and got down at Panipat station. Police sources said Reeta's parents had met deputy superintendent of police (DSP) (central) Ashish Kapoor again and gave some details. The call records of the cop are also being studied to get more details.
The DSP said, “We are investigating the case and efforts are on to track the 25-year-old cop. Reeta's mobile tower location was last found at Karnal and teams have also been set to Haryana to track her down.”
Reeta posted with police control room and applied for leave from June 9 till June 12. She had also done some shopping before leaving on June 7 night.
