The 20-year-old mentally challenged woman who went missing under mysterious circumstances from Panipat's local charitable shelter on Monday, has been recovered from Hisar.
Confirming the development on Tuesday, the inspector general of police Rohtak range, Alok Mittal said that the woman was in good health and brought back to Panipat's Mother Teresa Mandbudhi Ashram in Sector 12, this morning.
The woman, who was allegedly abused sexually and physically at the Rohtak-based Apna Ghar, was shifted to a local charitable shelter by the state government in May this year.
According to the information, the woman was spotted by two women at Sector 8 in Hisar on Monday night where she was roaming around in the area.
During interaction, the challenged woman revealed that she was residing in Panipat and had run away from the shelter home.
The two women offered her shelter for the night and then informed the Hisar police about the incident.
Later, the Hisar district police authorities contacted its Panipat counterparts and verified the details of the missing woman.
Though, the alleged victim of abuse at Rothak's shelter went missing, the police did not hold the management of the Panipat's shelter for being negligent in the episode.
