In its third raid at Sirsa in search of Gopal Goyal Kanda, in connection with former airhostess Geetika Sharma's suicide case, a team of Delhi police detained Bunty Bansal, kin of Kanda here in the wee hours of Thursday.

A team of around 20 police personnels led by ACP Kawal Preet Singh reached Sirsa on Wednesday night, and conducted fresh raids at various hideouts before detaining Bunty.

Bunty was taken into custody after police found many calls being received on his mobile phone from an unknown number, and he could be in regular touch with Kanda.

Shilpa Bansal, wife of Bunty said "Police seized three mobiles phones before taking away my husband". Notably, Delhi police had already conducted raids at the palatial house of Kanda twice in last one week, and had questioned the family members of Kanda.

With the second arrest from Sirsa, panic has gripped among the close supporters of Kanda, who are now keeping their cellphones on switch off mode or have already left on religious tours, fearing police crackdown on them in connection with Kanda.

Earlier police had detained Mandeep Singh, a resident of Sirsa, after it was ascertained that number Kanda used to call ex-MDLR employee Geetika Sharma, was issued on his name.
