Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sanitation drive and said that he was doing “amazing things” for the country.
Talking to mediapersons at the inauguration of a blood donation camp to mark the anniversary of his father Bapu Maghar Singh at the Dera campus, he said that the oragnisation had many ideas for the nation’s development.
Dera has the technique and proposals which can prevent the nation from drought and flood, and is willing to share it with the government, he said.
However, he dismissed the idea of supporting any political party in the upcoming assembly elections. But, if the Dera decided to support any party, it would be after consultation with its political wing and followers from across the state, he said.
The Dera would support candidates who can stop female foeticide, corruption, liquor and drug trade, he added.
Notably, at Congress’ in rally in Sirsa on Saturday, state Congress chief Ashok Tanwar dismissed the PM’s cleanliness drive and said that Modi was aping what the Dera chief had been doing for a long time.
A total of 3,831 units of blood were collected in the camp.
