The Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary, Inderjit Singh has attacked the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Congress government in the state for betraying the cause of people and working for the corporate sector. He was addressing a general body meeting of the party workers at Sirsa for reviewing the current political situation and to prepare for the coming assembly elections.
Singh said no one had thought that the BJP government at the Centre would show its true face so soon. "It has sent a clear signal to its corporate promoters to pay back them for backing it during the elections.
This was clear through the railway and general budgets that the promise of 'achhe din' was not for the common man but for the capitalists. The Modi government is catering to the affluent section of society," he said.
He said the Left parties will strive to mobilise all progressive forces for the assembly elections who were interested in pro-people politics devoid of caste and communal ideology. The party workers explained, in detail, that how the impact of struggle could not be translated into votes during the parliamentary elections.
