With main pieces finalised, the ruling combine of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its rival, the Congress, will now put these on the board to get the game on. State Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh; state leader of Opposition Sunil Kumar Jakhar, and former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal will accompany Sathi to the returning officer for filing nomination papers, Jagmeet Singh Brar, member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), has said.
Sathi will file his nomination papers at 2pm, Jain at 11am, and the PPP candidate, Ravinder Singh Dhaliwal, on February 4. Senior leaders of the CPI, Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) will be present during the filing of nomination paper," said the PPP president, Manpreet Singh Badal.

The constituency's 16 sectors will have two special police squads each to record political meetings.
