Police have booked a resident of SAS Nagar for allegedly abusing and threatening the state information commissioner at Sector 17.

“The accused, identified as Harminder Singh, a phase-7 resident of SAS Nagar, started creating ruckus in the office of information commissioner when the authority concerned disposed of his appeal. He managed to flee,” said the police.

Sector 17 SHO Udaypal Singh said the incident took place on Tuesday when the commissioner told Harminder that he would dispose of his application because the records were not available.

The police have registered a case against him under Section 353 (assault on public servant) and 186 (obstruction in public duty) of the IPC at the Sector 17 police station.
