More than 500 take part in painting contest

Over 550 students from various schools in the tricity participated in the 18th annual edition of ‘On the Spot’ painting competition organised by Pallavi Hotel and Resort at their complex here on Thursday. The chief guest of the event was chairman of Haryana Public Service Commission, Manbir Singh Bhadana, who inaugurated the contest.

Over 550 students from various schools in the tricity participated in the 18th annual edition of ‘On the Spot’ painting competition organised by Pallavi Hotel and Resort at their complex here on Thursday. The chief guest of the event was chairman of Haryana Public Service Commission, Manbir Singh Bhadana, who inaugurated the contest.

Participants were divided into three groups and were told to make paintings using water colours, oil pastels, pencil shades. The jury, consisting of experts Sandeep Joshi, Anju Pasricha and Vinay Vadhera, awarded the top slot to three schools from Panchkula: Army Public School, Holy Child School and St Stephen School. The annual running trophy will be retained by each of them for four months in rotation.

Five merit-wise prizes, including two consolations prizes, were awarded to each group.

The group-wise toppers included Samriti Sajawan, Satluj Public School, Panchkula, Samiksha Chhetri, Army Public School, Chandimandir, and Sonali Sharma, Holy Child school Panchkula.
