Bikers wearing white T-shirts carrying slogans to motivate the youth to cast their votes zoomed across the city.
Additional district electoral officer, Parveen Kumar Thind, flagged off the rally from Gurdwara Sahib, Phase 11. The rally went through Phases 9, 8, 7, 3, 5, and finally culminated at the North Country Mall in Kharar.
Thind said, "The SVEEP programme has been initiated in the district to motivate voters and spread awareness about their constitutional right."
"A target of 85% polling is set for the Lok Sabha polls to be held on April 30. The voter awareness campaign under SVEEP programme is receiving a positive response from people," he added.
