Small screen’s heartthrob, Raqesh Vashisth, would soon be breaking many hearts , as he would be seen dancing with wife Ridhi Dogra in the upcoming season of Nach Baliye, a reality dance show for couples. “This is not the direction we thought our careers would head in,” says the couple, and adds, “We are not doing it for the publicity; it’s just to give something different a shot, since we believe in getting better with each project we take up.”
About the spirit of competition taking a toll on the couple’s chemistry, Ridhi says, “Some of our friends who have been on the show earlier have warned us against unreasonable fights due to performance pressure. But, Raqesh and I are sensible enough; we won’t let such pressures get in the way of our chemistry. Raqesh doesn’t really love dancing, but I enjoy it thoroughly. Yes, I am one of those Indian girls who grew up dancing on ‘Mere Haathon Mein..’. We have, however, started practicing.”
About both of them taking a step backwards in acting, Ridhi says, “The last show Raqesh did, Honge Juda Na Hum, did not turn out as expected, which has set him back for a bit. In fact, both of us don’t usually agree with the sensibilities of Indian television. But, things are changing now; TV is becoming more experimental, take Anil Kapoor’s 24 for instance.”
While Raqesh made his debut with Bollywood film Tum Bin, Ridhi is popular for his roles in Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? and Laagi Tujhse Lagan.
