The Aam Aadmi Party's member of Parliament from Patiala, Dr Dharamveer Gandhi, extended the support of his party to the dismissed workers of Panecia Biotech who have been on chain hunger strike from past five days at Dera Bassi.

The workers, demanding re-employment, have been staging protest against the factory management from past nine months.

The MP also promised to raise the issue in forthcoming session in Parliament.

Besides, he also addressed party workers at Lalru, Dera Bassi and Zirakpur.

The MP claimed that his party would repeat the results of Lok Sabha polls by defeating both the Congress and Akalis in the by-election of Patiala Assembly seat on August 21.

Visiting for the first time after his victory in Dera Bassi constituency, the AAP leader said, “The anti-incumbency graph of state government has been touching its lowest and that will ascertain the victory of the AAP candidate.”

Gandhi claimed that he had taken up various issues related to Punjab, including Ghaggar check dam project, Rajpura-Chandigarh railway link via SAS Nagar, and revamp of Rajindra Hospital in Patiala besides demanding Shatabdi train service from Bathinda to Delhi and Fazilka to Delhi on three days in a week.
