The teaser of the sequel to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s controversial film ‘MSG’ has been released and gone viral on popular video-sharing website YouTube.

The sequel, likely to be released on September 18, is titled ‘MSG-2: The Messenger’. The trailer, which was uploaded on Friday, got more than 1 million views within 24 hours of its launch.

“After MSG-1’s success, which garnered Rs 170 crore, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh decided to make MSG-2,” said Dera spokesman Pawan Insan.

“The sequel portrays tribals and their extreme animal-like lives and with empathy, perseverance and belief in human life, MSG succeeds in turning them around, changing their destinies. The movie lays parallel between their lives and modern day lives, forcing us to think about present-day lifestyles, being armed with all tools, we still tend to give up easily. The movie is an inspirational tale for everybody but delivers the punch mixed with a high dose of action, adventure and wholesome entertainment,” a press release issued during the film’s poster launch on August 15 stated.

In the first movie, the Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda sect leader donned the caps of protagonist, director, singer and lyricist. The Punjab government had banned that film, fearing communal unrest.
