Murder of P’kula resident: Maid, 2 others get life term

Additional district and sessions judge Rajnish Kumar Sharma on Wednesday sentenced three people, including the then maid and her husband, to life imprisonment for murder of an old woman in Sector 7, Panchkula, in August last year.

The fourth accused is a juvenile and faces trial in a separate court. The murder of Sushila Devi,66,was planned by her maid Chintesh, husband Suraj Pal and cousin Gainda Ram, all natives of Moradabad, UP, and the juvenile brother of Chintesh.

The husband-wife duo had been given accommodation in the house of Sushila.

Police investigations and the chargesheet mentioned that Chintesh facilitated the robbery and murder by getting the victim to open the door. The men strangulated Sushila to death with a towel. After the crime, Chintesh did not runway, but called up the in-laws of her (the vicitm’s) son informing her that her master had been found dead.
