National polio campaign launches in P'kula

Panchkula deputy commissioner (DC) SS Phulia launched the National Pulse Polio Campaign by giving a dose of polio drops to children at Aashyana in Abheypur village here on Sunday.

Polio drops will be administered door-to-door to children below five years on Monday and Tuesday.

Phulia said as many as 469 booths were set up in the district for covering 80, 525 children, adding that there were 47 transit teams and 33 mobile teams comprising 1,432 health and Asha workers, and members from NGOs and Anganwadi centres.

The health department has also established booths on bus stops and railway stations.
