NGO honours achievers from Shiwalik region

Shiwalik Vikas Manch (SVM), a NGO honoured several achievers the in the field of music, education, medicine etc. hailing from the region on Saturday.

Vijay Bansal, president of SVM welcomed the guests and informed about the activities of the NGO.

Bansal is an RTI activist and his petition had led to mining ban in Haryana and he also forced the government to formulate a policy for regulating poultry farms in the state.

While talking about the achievement of the NGO, he said they would continue their work of welfare of the region.

ACP Mamta Souda and high court lawyer Ravi Sharma, who has been associated with SVM, were also present on the occasion.

The SVM honoured IAS officers Sameer Pal Sarao and Harpreet Singh Sudan. Other prominent personalities who were honoured included Dr Yashpal Sharma and Dr Jagat Ram, both working with PGIMER of Chandigarh, dean of Kurkshetra university MM Goyal, Dr Harjeet Singh, dean of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr Shashi Sethi, psychiatrist, Sanjay Suri, CEO of Morepen group, Kulbhushan Goyal, MD of Amarnath group and Baldev Bansal, MD BCL homes.
