Children going to various Anganwadi centres in Bapu Dham Colony, under the Central Social Welfare Board, were given various valuables, here on Thursday.
The initiative was taken by the Youth Innovative Society in association with city-based NGO, Doing Our Bit for the Country. The items included white board, clay, painting colours, steel plates, spoons, crayons and refreshments.
Central Social Welfare Board chairperson Kamlesh was the chief guest on the occasion.
Youth Innovative Society chairman Sachin Sharma said, “It will help them learn to groom themselves well. We are focusing on the children coming from families below the poverty line and especially visibly impaired children.
Kamlesh briefed everybody about the food security bill, government social schemes and thanked the organisation's for their contribution.
The two NGO's connect the urban and rural children through an initiative called 'Saathi Haath Badana.'
