BJP MP Anurag Thakur has said that the national highway number 70 will be double-laned from Kot village to Awahdevi village of Hamirpur district.

“I have already talked to union surface minister Nitin Gadkari in this regard,” he said after inaugurating a building of Yuva Mmandal at Chahar village in the district on Friday.

Rakesh Thakur, the Sujanpur mandal president and Narendra Thakur, local MLA, were also present on the occasion.
Anurag Thakur also addressed public meetings in different parts of the Sujanpur assembly segment and visited those places which suffered huge loss of lives and damage to crops due to the recent heavy rains and floods caused by the swelling of the Beas river.
He said that the BJP government at the Centre was doing its best to resolve the problems of the people in the country and all-out efforts would be made to help the those hit by natural calamities in Himachal Pradesh.

Thakur hit out at the Congress government in the state for ignoring development and said that had it taken timely action, lives of a large number of people would have been saved, who died during the recent flash floods in the state.

MLA Narendra Thakur said that the pace of development in the Sujanpur assembly segment of the district would not be allowed to suffer and he would do a lot to get funds from both the central and the state governments.

Meanwhile, Anurag Thakur also visited various flood-hit areas of the Bhoranj assembly segment of the district on Saturday and met the affected persons. He assured them that the central government would extend them all possible help for their rehabilitation.
