There was no let up in the heat wave sweeping through Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh with maximum temperatures today hovering in the range of 42-46 degrees Celsius at many places.

Chandigarh braved yet another scorching day forcing many people to restrict themselves indoors due to the sizzling heat.

Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Moga and other towns of Punjab reeled under the hear wave. In Haryana, Hisar, Gurgaon, Bhiwani, Ambala and Rohtak were among the towns that experienced sweltering heat.

Unscheduled power cuts continued in Chandigarh and at some places in the two states making it difficult for the people to face the unbearable heat.

The MeT has forecast no immediate relief from the ongoing hot weather conditions in the region.
