In a resumed hearing in Jyoti murder case, Dr Richa Mehta, senior scientific officer, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, Karnal, told the court that no trace of semen had been found on the victim's clothes during the examination.
Mehta added that the accused's hair samples, taken during the investigation, had not matched with those on the sweater of the victim.
Jyoti, 24, was found dead with her head smashed on the roadside at Sector 21 in Panchkula on November 22, 2012. Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary is the prime accused in the case.
When Jyoti's body was found, some hair strands were found on her sweater. After arrest of Chaudhary, his hair samples were taken, but they did not match with those found on Jyoti's sweater.
Also, the hair samples of Paramjit alias Pumma, Gurmeet and Dharampal were also taken. But that also did not match with those found on the victim's sweater.
As per Chaudhary's confession, he told Jyoti that they could not marry and therefore should not meet often. Jyoti started shouting after learning this.
As per chargesheet, both Chaudhary and Paramjit slapped her. Chaudhary, then, held her legs and Paramjit beat her up. Then both strangulated her following which Jyoti went unconscious and a truck was called to run her over.
