Non-teaching staff demands implementation of pension

The federation of non-teaching employees at Panjab University (PU) submitted a memorandum regarding their long-pending demands to the university vice-chancellor here on Monday.

A delegation led by president of federation, Deepak Kaushik, met vice-chancellor AK Grover and submitted a list of 32 demands.

Deepak Kaushik said that they had been demanding the implementation of widow pension for which the options were invited by the PU authority but the same had not been implemented yet.

The other demands include, reopening of pension scheme for employees who failed to opt for it earlier due to various reasons; regularisation of daily wage employees; revision of pays-cale of lab and technical staff; filling up of vacant post of non-teaching cadres; bringing drivers at par with junior technician and cashless facility for treatment of employees in the hospitals recognized by the university.

Deepak Kaushik said that the vice-chancellor had assured to look into their demands.
