The beautiful Nisha Rawal, who began her career with modelling and moved on to the world of acting, will not return to the ramp. Why? "A lot of unwelcome stuff happens behind the curtains in the fashion world and I do not relate to it," she said during her visit to Ludhiana on Friday.
Elaborating further on her dislike for the ramp, Nisha said, "There is cut throat competition abound in the fashion industry. People are ready to do anything to get ahead in the race. Models drink and appear on the ramp. This off-stage part doesn't attract me at all." The pretty girl was in the city to launch a two-day luxury wedding exhibition, Grand Asian Wedding Week, that took place at Hotel Majestic Park Plaza on September 8-9.
Nisha has modelled for top designers and brands during the initial years of her career before heading to television and Bollywood. "Of all the kinds of assignments that I have done so far, I like doing commercials the most," added Nisha, who has been the face of many popular commercial campaigns such as Tanishq, Cygnus, Fem, Bombay Dyeing, EverYuth, Close Up, Sunsilk, Globus, Shopper's Stop, Coca Cola, Cinthol, Hide & Seek and others. She reasoned that acting in commercials is relaxed work that gives instant recognition.
Nisha has also featured in several music videos that made her a household name, the most outstanding being Chanda Ki Doli, Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai, Dil Hai Tanha and Heer. Her stint in Bollywood includes the Jimmy Sheirgill-starrer Hastey Hastey and the 2008 film, Rafoo Chakkar.
Meanwhile, Nisha recently quit a television show called Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki and is all set to marry her boyfriend, Karan Mehra. Needless to say, the lady is neck deep in the wedding's preparations that takes place in December.
