Notices to Khurana, 2 others in graft case

A special CBI court on Wednesday issued notices for personal appearance to former Punjab chief parliamentary secretary and BJP leader Raj Khurana and two others in the Rs 1.5 crore bribery case. The case will now come up for hearing on April 24.

Devinder Singh Gill, who was an employee in the office of registrar of firms and societies, Punjab, and the then MLA Khurana were arrested on May 5 last year in the case following allegations of demanding a bribe from the secretary of Punjab Automobile Mechanic Association for closing a complaint case against the association.

Besides Khurana, former Punjab social security and technical education minister Swarna Ram's then personal assistant Bhag Singh and Devinder have also been told to appear before the CBI court.
