National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Monday demanded that BSc first and second year students be given a chance to clear their arrears on the lines of post graduate and BSc final year students. Students said they would continue protesting till their demands were met. They gave a memorandum to the vice-chancellor (V-C) and started an indefinite hunger strike outside his office.

Meanwhile, Panjab University Students Union (PUSU) also gave a memorandum to the V-C demanding upgradation of civic amenities on the south campus.

They said there were no arrangements for a canteen on the south campus and the condition of washrooms in UIET was miserable.
