NSUI launches student rights campaign
National Students Union of India (NSUI) Punjab launched a six-month campaign ‘Saada Haq’ to raise issues related to students across colleges and other higher educational institutions.

The campaign was launched in the presence of Punjab Congress Committee chief Pratap Singh Bajwa, Harish Chaudhary, secretary, All India Congress Committee, and Punjab National Students Union of India (chief Daaman Bajwa at the Punjab Congress Bhawan Sector 15. A website, nsuipanjab.in , and Facebook page were also launched for the campaign.
Daaman Bajwa said the campaign was aimed fighting for student rights across the state. “It will be a platform where students could share their problems and National Students Union of India ( will take up those issues with the authorities,” she said, adding that work on the campaign would start soon. State and district units would oversee the campaign.
NSUI SUBMITS MEMORANDUM TO V-C
CHANDIGARH: National Students Union of India (NSUI) submitted a memorandum to the office of the vice-chancellor and demanded that rules for the promotion from BSc (honours school) final year to MSc (honours school) be amended.
Students demanded that credits to get admission in MSc first year be revised from 100% to 90%. Similarly, rules for promotion within BSc (HS) courses for the first three years should be lowered to 50% credits from 80%.
SOI PROTESTS OUTSIDE V-C OFFICE:
CHANDIGARH: Student Organisation of India (SOI) protested outside the office of the vice-chancellor at Panjab University (PU). Students demanded that the students of the 2012 batch of the Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College, Sector 46, be allowed to appear in their annual examination.
The PU has disaffiliated the college and is allowing intake of students on a yearly basis on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana high court.
Till recently, PU allowed students who got admission before the academic year 201213 to appear in the examination but denied permission to those admitted after that.
