Members of National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Sunday staged a dharna against Punjab education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka at his residence in Kansal village in SAS Nagar district.

Daaman Bajwa president of Punjab unit of NSUI and Jaswinder Singh national secretary of NSUI, who led the protest, marched from the Congress Bhawan at Sector 15 to Kansal village carrying banners and raising slogans against the disgraced education minister for his involvement in the book scam.

Daaman Bajwa, while addressing protestors demanded dismissal of Maluka from the cabinet and demanded a CBI probe against him.

Bajwa said the book scam was a blot on the face of the SAD-BJP government and the minister cannot escape from the responsibility of supplying books with vulgar content to schoolchildren.
