Various schools in the city will hold their draw of lots for nursery admissions on Saturday, after winter vacations are over.

The missionary schools — St Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32, Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26 and St John’s School, Sector 26 — will be holding their draw of lots on January 17. St Kabir Public School, Sector 26, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 33, and Shishu Niketan Model School will also conduct the draw of lot on Saturday.

Vivek High School, Sector 38, will follow the 35-point system, in which 10 points will be given for siblings (real siblings of students already studying in the school), 10 points for children of alumni (children of alumni of the school who have passed Class X or Class XII from school), 10 points for children of staff members and five points for neighbourhood residents. If vacant seats remain at Vivek High School, the seats will be filled by a lottery system.

Schools will display the list of the selected students and the waiting list will be displayed from January 20. The parents will have to deposit fee of selected students by January 25, after which the schools will display the second waiting list from January 29 to January 31.
