The city's four top Christian missionary have uploaded a list of eligible candidates for the ongoing nursery admissions on their websites on Tuesday.
The four schools -- St Anne's, Carmel Convent, Sacred Heart and St John's - which have a total 705 seats between them, were the first to announce their lists. They were the first to upload their candidates' list on their websites.
St Anne's Convent school, Sector 32, has drawn up a list of 1,826 candidates. The school had received 1,850 admission forms for 225 seats. Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, has uploaded a list of all 1,000 candidates who applied for 120 seats. Sacred Heart, Sector 26, which had received 1,400 application forms for 200 seats, has uploaded a list of 1,100 candidates.
St John's has uploaded a list of 951 of the 1,200 candidates who applied for the school's 160 seats in nursery class.
With each school receiving over 1,000 admission forms, the competition is all set to be tougher this year, said school authorities. These schools will draw lots on January 17 after 3pm to select candidates for admission. A list of those selected will be uploaded on the schools' websites on January 18.
