"Where are Mom and Dad?" were the first words nine-year-old Ananya uttered when she regained a little consciousness after undergoing ribs surgery here at GMCH 32. Her parents, NRI couple from UK, Roopesh Nawarkhele and Kavita Nawarkhele, were cremated here at Sector 25, a day after the fatal accident.

The accident on Vikas Marg road between a Himachal Roadways bus and a Swift car had left five people dead and 15 injured.

Vikas, a relative of Ananya, said soon after opening her eyes Ananya asked for her parents. "We did not disclose to her about the death of her parents as she is not in a condition to take stress. The doctors have advised not to tell her about the tragic news," he said.

Soon after the post-mortem, the body of the deceased couple was taken to the cremation ground at Sector-25 for the funeral rites.

Heart rending scenes were witnessed at the cremation ground as the couple was consigned to flames.
