Haryana finance minister Capt Abhimanyu on Wednesday accused the opposition parties of misinterpreting the facts presented in the white paper on state finances to mislead people.
In a statement, the minister said the opposition is doing this without realising that facts and figures present the true financial condition of the state.
Capt Abhimanyu said that white paper is an official document based on facts which should become the base of future discussions and deliberations to provide right direction to policy formation.
He said that the initiative of the BJP government to release the white paper was to make people aware of the true financial condition of the state.
He asked as to why the previous Congress government could not have the courage to release a white paper on state finances. He said that leaders making statements on the white paper were under panic as the financial mismanagement of previous Congress government had been exposed.
He said that the present government would make an endeavour to bring back the derailed economy of Haryana on track. "For this, the work culture would be changed and administrative set up would be made active and responsible. Corruption would be completely eliminated and efforts would be made in the ensuing budget session to augment revenue" he said.
