The Delhi high court had recently expressed reservationnd issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation over his public address at Jind on September 25, where Chautala had made a surprise appearance on the 100th birth ceremony of party founder and father Devi Lal.

Chautala reached Ucchana town on Thursday night and met senior party leaders till into the wee hours of Friday.

Sporting a white dhoti and kurta and a green headgear, Chautala mingled with the electorate at Shahpur village atop a specially designed vehicle.

Dushyant, son of Dabwali MLA Ajay Chautala, also jailed in the recruitment scam, is fighting his maiden assembly election from Ucchana against Prem Lata, wife of arch rival and veteran leader Birender Singh.

Addressing the public, he enquired about their well-being besides urging them not to miss the chance to teach rivals a lesson.

Taking a dig at the ruling Congress, he said the current dispensation had upset the state’s system and if his party was voted to power, he would rectify it.

In his Jind rally, he had vowed to take oath of chief minister from the Tihar jail and had dubbed himself as a victim of the "Congress conspiracy".

Ajay Chautala’s wife Naina Chautala, who is contesting from Dabwali, had recently made an emotional appeal to voters saying an INLD government in the state could help bring their favourite leaders out of jail.

The Chautalas and others were found guilty of illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained teachers in Haryana in 2000 when Om Prakash Chautala was the chief minister.
