About 8.05 lakh eligible voters have been included in the revised list of voters in 2013 in Haryana.
State chief electoral officer Shrikant Walgad in a release issued on Monday said that in compliance to the Election Commission of India directions, the photo electoral rolls of all assembly constituencies of Haryana have been amended by including all eligible voters, who had attained the age of 18 years or more as on January 1, 2013.
He said the draft publication of these lists was done on October 1,2012. In case of those applications that were received between October 1 and November 20, 2012, all eligible votes were included and names of ineligible voters were deleted and final publication of these voters' lists would be done on January 15,2013 for inspection by public, as fixed by the Election Commission.
He also appealed to the eligible citizens of the state to check the voter lists themselves at their nearest centre of publication that is polling centre, booth level officer concerned, electoral registration officer or assistant electoral registration officer so as to ensure that their names exist in the list and all details are correct.
"They should also ensure that the names of ineligible voters have been deleted from the finally published list," he said and added that if there was any error in details or despite being eligible, their names have been deleted, they should submit the duly filled in prescribed forms No. 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A in duplicate to the office of booth level officer concerned and obtain a receipt.
