A local court here on Tuesday held a Haryana police head constable for raping his 25-year-old second wife.

The woman had filed a complaint in February 2014 and the FIR was registered on March 13, 2014.

According to the complainant, the woman came in contact with accused Jaspal Singh during a police recruitment test in 2004 and they got married in a gurdwara in Sector 32, Chandigarh.

She was staying with him in the official accommodation. She said he did not tell her about his previous marriage. She alleged that Singh forcefully outraged her modesty under deceitful manner without her consent and permission and also by marrying in an unlawful manner.

She added that he had also kept government records unlawfully at his house. The police raided his house and recovered that. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on Wednesday.
