Panchkula: Woman robbed of purse containing cash, mobile phone

Snatching continues to go unchecked in the city. Two unidentified motorcycle-borne youths snatched a purse from a Sector-15 resident on Friday evening.

The incident took place near Sector 15. The victim, Kashma (61), reported that she was attacked by motorcycle-borne youths, who came from behind and snatched her hand bag containing mobile phone, cash and other documents.

The victim told police that all accused were wearing helmet and she failed to note down the registration number of the vehicle. A case of assault or criminal force in attempt to commit theft of property carried by a person and punishment for theft has been registered under sections 356 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The snatching incidents have been rising in the city. On May 4, two women were targeted by miscreants who fled after snatching their belonging.
