The UT administration is all set to make parking mandatory for houses bigger than one kanal. The decision was taken in the meeting of Punjab governor and UT administrator Shivraj Patil, UT home secretary Anil Kumar, UT chief architect Sumit Kaur and other top officials.
During the meeting various issues, including building bylaws and traffic were discussed.
Sumit Kaur gave a presentation of Chandigarh masterplan, which is expected to be finalised soon.
According to senior officials, Sumit Kaur, whose term is coming to an end on September 30, is all set to get extension till October 31. Sumit Kaur will retire on October 31 and she is likely to be hired as consultant after retirement. Sumit has been actively working on the masterplan of Chandigarh since 2008.
