Navneet Kaur Dhillon from Patiala lost the run for the Miss World 2013 crown here on Saturday, continuing India's 13-year-long dry run at the coveted annual beauty pageant. However, she won the Multimedia Award.

Philippines beauty Megan Young, 23, was crowned Miss World 2013 after beating 130 contestants at the grand finale of the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. Megan, a student of filmmaking, was excited to have taken over the crown from 2012's Miss World winner Wenxia Yu of China. "I have no words to express my feelings. Thank you so much to everyone for choosing me to be the next Miss World. It means a lot to me and I promise to be the best person. I am very very excited," she said after the crowning.

Navneet, 21, managed to make her way to the top 20 out of 127 contestants from across the world. However, she couldn't make it to the top 10 shortlist.

The young beauty, however, helped India bag the Multimedia Award at the pageant for the second time in a row. The award was first introduced by the Miss World Organization in 2012 when India's Vanya Mishra clinched it.

The Multimedia Award is adjudged on how contestants present their web section of the Miss World website and a Facebook page wherein they interact with fans through status updates, photos and videos.

Navneet's page got 1, 21,725 likes, which was achieved with status updates, interactive photo posts and stunning cover pictures. "I strongly believe in improving the lives of less privileged and it is for this reason that I have been a part of many social endeavours. I dedicate my success to my loving parents who are the pillars of my strength and it is this strength that gives me the confidence and determination to represent my country on this global stage," she wrote on her page.

Navneet also stood ninth in the Beauty with a Purpose Award. The winner was Miss Nepal Ishani Shrestha.

Ambala-born Navneet was the winner of Pond's 50th edition of Femina Miss World India 2013 that took place in Mumbai in March.
